Zach is currently a junior studying computer science. He shipped and optimized systems in both startup and enterprise settings. Outside of technical work he loves trying new restaurants, building legos or admiring watches.

Why tech@nyu?
Being at Tandon can sometimes feel disconnected from the broader NYU community across the bridge. I initially joined Tech@NYU after attending a few of their events, and realized it was exactly the kind of environment I was looking for, a tight-knit community where I could grow both technically and personally.
What do you do outside of work?
I am always looking for new restaurants to try. Working out, building lego sets, admiring luxury watches and playing poker with my friends.
Advice to your younger self?
Trust yourself more. Say yes to more fun and non-work-related opportunities. It’s important to enjoy life outside of school and work, not just focus on what’s next.
What is your key motivation?
Making myself and my family proud, especially my parents, who have given me this opportunity to pursue studies here in the US. Being someone who can provide for their family in the future.
What do you look for in program members?
I don’t just look for the most technically gifted people. I value individuals who are willing to learn, go above and beyond, and bring complementary strengths to a team. Being hardworking, reliable, and enjoyable to be around matters just as much. I also respect people who hold themselves and their team accountable.
