Why tech@nyu?
I love the community! Tech @ NYU has such a unique culture that no other club on campus can really match, and I really feel like the people here just get me. Nowhere else can I talk so openly about how stressed I am from recruiting, get help with my projects, and just meet people who have the same goals as me. Breaking into tech can feel so lonely, and I’m super grateful for not having to do it alone.
What do you do outside of work?
I love hiking, running, cooking, reading, and playing video games! I’m a huge fan of anything outdoorsy, and I’m always looking for a new hiking buddy!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years, I want to be back in California working in ML research, and spending my breaks/weekends driving across the state to different national parks with my trailer RV and my dog.
Advice to your younger self?
Work hard, and don’t take life too seriously. In order for people to operate efficiently, they have to have a good work life balance, and I think finding the sweet spot for what works best for you is very important in life.
What do you look for in program members?
What matters most to me in members is work ethic and independence: getting your work done, and being proactive about it. If you’re someone who takes ownership and follows through, don’t hesitate to apply!
