Why tech@nyu?

Tech@NYU played a big role in helping me find direction in tech when I first started at NYU. I came in without a strong programming background and learned how to build confidence through student communities and collaboration. Being part of the Dev Team and now leading Tech Treks has shown me how powerful it is to learn by building together. Tech@NYU gives students the space to explore, grow, and ship real products, which is why I’m excited to continue contributing to the community.

What do you look for in program members?

I look for program members who are genuinely curious and eager to learn more about tech. Tech Treks is a beginner-friendly program, and we value people who are willing to try new things and excited about building. Commitment is important, as we meet twice a week and work toward a semester-long project through consistent effort. Teamwork and communication are important to the program, since we’re building a community where members support each other and build together.

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I love doing ballet. I’m part of a ballet performance club at NYU, where we train for a semesterly showcase. Last semester, we performed The Nutcracker. I also enjoy exploring new restaurants and boba spots, playing Nintendo Switch games, and building LEGO sets.

Favorite tech@nyu event of all time?

Definitely the Tech Treks and Dev Team project showcases. I love attending the Tech Treks showcases as an audience member and seeing how creative the projects are, especially how much progress teams make in just a few months. I was also part of the Dev Team last year, and it was really exciting to present our project, AlbertPlus, to the community. Sharing the details behind what we built and getting feedback from other students made the experience especially memorable.

Advice to your younger self?

Don’t get overwhelmed by big goals. Focus on the small steps in front of you, keep trying, and trust that progress adds up over time.
