Aimee Yu
Aimee is a senior at New York University studying Data Science with minors in Public Health and Web Programming & Applications. She worked as an intern at National Grid where she developed a full-stack tool. She loves learning in all forms, whether it is regarding subjects like tech that interest her or developing a deeper understanding of herself and the relationships around her. In her free time she loves attending live music events, listening to audiobooks, and trying new restaurants!

Why tech@nyu?
It can be hard to find a community at NYU, and tech@nyu is able to bring together people who are not only hardworking and passionate, but also so supportive! Even though there are so many people who come from different backgrounds and have varying interests, tech@nyu is able to bring everyone together in a growth-minded community.
What do you look for in program members?
The main trait I look for in program members is a genuine drive to build and collaborate. Tech Treks is designed to help program members grow, and we want to find students who will fully take advantage of all that we have to offer. We want to find students who take initiative and are passionate about joining the tech@nyu community.
What do you do outside of work?
I love traveling, trying new foods, walking outside, and watching cat videos! I love live music in all forms, anything from concerts and broadway shows to raves and karaoke.
Favorite tech@nyu event of all time?
Tech Treks Project Showcase! As a former Tech Treks member, it was so rewarding to present with my team and show off what we learned and worked on for a semester. As a program lead, it was so inspiring to see the creativity and technical skills of our cohort members. I was so proud of how much cohort members grew throughout the semester!

Favorite tradition/memory from tech@nyu?
tech@nyu retreat! Ate so much good food thanks to our eboard chefs (shoutout Andy and Sean)! Also made so many silly and wholesome memories, like making smores over the fire pit and having late night talks in the hot tub at 3am in the rain!
